      After market Gauge Question

I am in the process of putting an L92/6L90e into my 67 Camaro, and am currently looking for new gauges. I am trying to decide between the Dakota Digital VHX system, and the New Vintage USA 1968 3-1 gauge set. (I like the fact that both systems only use the two stock gauge sockets--I do not have a center console)

Does anyone have experience with either/both? I like the aesthetics of both systems, but am not sure which one would be easier to implement. Dakota Dig is about $795, while the New Vintage is $599 + a $50 dollar bracket. I have done some research, and believe the Dakota set up is a cleaner install, but it is more expensive.......

Any thoughts? How does the New Vintage set up look in person?

Can't help much, but I have been looking at the New Vintage 3-1 gauges and they have a very nice clean look to them. The DD seem a little to modern looking for my 68 Firebird. I was hoping that the New Vintage gauges would have been a little closer priced to the original quote when they were being introduced. Just my .02

I had Mark at New Vintage USA make a custom set of the 3 in 1 gauges for my 68 firebird. The gauges are top notch! They are even better looking in person. The wiring is not difficult.

I went with the DD VHX and got a killer deal from Frank at Prodigy once again.

They are cool. and pretty easy to install. I like the zero to 60 and 1/4 time function. it's nice to be able to scroll thru and see a digital read out off all the gauges, fuel level in %, volts, mph, tach, water temp, oil pressure, etc.
There are 2 tripometers, a "service-meter"? set it for different amount of miles and it counts down then flags service engine, hour meter.

A lot of stuff. not something you're going to check out every time your behind the wheel but...if you need to...like when I was on Power Tour and worried the noise coming from my alternator was a bad thing, I watched the LCD screen that I had showing my volts. 13.2 volts is easier to read then trying to "guess" where the needle is pointing...exactly.
