      Honeycomb's with 285/40

Just got these mounted, fit is great. They work well with the C6 caliper and Kore 3 hubs with the exception of the dust cap. Even with the small dust cap installed I needed a small(1/4") spacer in order to use the wheel centre cap. The centre caps need massaging to actually fit and stay in place.
My old 17" Snowflake wheels are now for sale.

Is that 285's all the way around? Can you take a pic approaching the nose but still to one side enough to see the wheels? Looking good!

They are 285/40 Nitto NT555 all the way around. There is still room for more tire, but I think any larger on a 9" wheel would compromise performance.

Looks good. I'm not a huge fan of the SD formula look with the shaker and no spoilers......but its a pretty car. Definitely looks like you have some negative camber......what arms do you have?

I'm putting 285's on my rear for now and 275's on the front. 9.5 inch rims. I'll probably go wider later on the front, and definitely on the rear.

I love those wheels and that price is fantastic. I wish they came in a wider variation than the 9''.

      Thanks for the props everyone!

The arms are Speedtech uppers from Blake. They definitely allowed for more caster, and fit well. IMO one of the better offerings.

      SD455,
Sweet looking ride. Do you still have stock A-arms on that beast? I put PTFBs upper a-arms on mine and have 0 problems with clearance, even lowered.
You should put those snowflakes up for sale over at performanceyears.com Lots more '77-'81 T/As over there--but give 2timegoldtransam the first shot

OOPS never mind.. Speedtech arms. I need to learn to read better.

How about one from the rear too?

Have you noticed any rubbing as you drive it around more?

      Thanks

My 275s are rubbing on my sway bar and frame rail behind at full lock (and my fender on full compression). How are you doing it with those 285s? I'm actually considering going to 255s or 265 up front.
While cruising to the local Sat night hangout, my drivers front tire caught my inner fender on a hard left turn and bent it inward. Not sure how. (I was missing the two rear inner fender bolts that bolt the fender to that extension that comes out of the firewall.) The bent inner fender then proceeded to cut numerous deep grooves around the inside of the tire. I didn't find it until today when I pulled the wheel for brake inspection! I ruined a $200 tire, maybe 100miles on it.

Wow! That really sucks about your tire! I am not sure but it could be the fact that I am running about 2.75 degrees negative camber up front. I have never had a problem with the fronts rubbing at all. My toe is set to zero as well, and about 3.5 degrees caster. I love what you have done to your car especially the rear wheels. I have been thinking about ordering another pair and doing something similar, such a stealthy look from the rear, well done!
