Acid Dipping Nor Cal

Does anyone know of a place in Northern California, preferably Sacramento area that acid dips cars? I have found a few places, but with the price of diesel these days, it would cost me more to get the car there and back than to get the body dipped!

I am also open to other ideas as to how to get rust out of my car....

The only guy i know that does this is in the santa rosa area i have used them before $$$$$$$ if you do a search it will come up. Percision stripping in lodi does media blasting he does a great job for a fair price . He just did my pontiac .Jim

if it were me, i would go with media blast. It would worry me to acid dip a car and have any lurking acid in hidden panels that would create problems down the road. My 2 cents. Whish you luck in your build

Thanks 64, I ended up going with soda blasting. I have the car torn down right now ready to go. I found a guy who will come to the house and blast the entire car in a day for 650. I can't really beat that!

Jeff...there is a place in Oroville that does good striping and powder coating. If you are headed towards Marysville they are backed up to the Hwy on the left side. Can't remember their name but they powder coated a 69 Chevelle frame, brackets and sheet metal for me a few years back for $500 including striping.

I believe they do bodies too.

Please post the contact info for the mobile blaster though. I wonder if they'll travel to Auburn.

Hey Tim -

This guy travels everywhere. He is based out of Wheatland. I talked to him last week and he was headed out to Sonora, he was up in Ukiah or somewhere this week, and he will be at my house on Saturday. So, I would assume he will come to Auburn, as long as its for something sizable such as a body and not just a panel, but that would be something you would have to ask him I suppose!

I think you are talking about City Body in Oroville. I got their name from a powder coater in town I am friends with. But the thought of putting the rotisserie, and car on a trailer makes my skin crawl. Not to willing to find out how great my welds are on this thing. So, having a guy come to the house will be great.
