      stingray concept

Anyone else seen this in person?

Much like the 2010 Camaro I hated it when I saw pictures, just thinking it was hideous. However, I was at the 2012 Dallas Auto Show yesterday and on display---I gotta say that it is unbelievable in person. The thing is like 2 feet tall and 10 feet wide! ( I'm exaggerate, but not much)

I am really going to be watching this one to see how close the keep the actual model to the concept. If the reality is as close to the concept as the Camaro was, they are going to sell a ton of these things.

Didn't see it in person, but from these pics, the top view looks awesome, back/quarter view looks good (tail end looks off), and front/quarter view looks a little funny too.

I like the shape of the canopy, but I doubt the center post in the rear window will make production. Looks like the same car they showed in Transformers 2 as "Sideswipe". (yes my nerd hat is bolted on)

      Is that a GM concept?
I saw a "kit" corvette with a similar rear on ebay a week ago.

It looks like all generations from the C2 to the C6 were put in a blender and this is what came out.

I'm not sure I like it, but at the same time, I'm not sure I don't.

Yes, this is a GM concept car and yes it was in Transformers 2.

There are many things I like about it but a lot I'm not sure of. I'd need to see it in person to get a better grasp on the car.

I really hated the scoops on the front fenders, but after getting a really good walk-around view of the car I realized just how much sense the front fender scoops made with the rear quarters.

Taken in pieces, it doesn't look good. But taken as a whole vehicle it is unbelievable.

I like it, and I would love to see the production version, with just a touch less George Jetson design.
But then again, as a concept car, it is supposed to push the envelope..

I really dig it because it's OBVIOUSLY a Corvette. They kept enough styling cues while adding some new ones.

We all know how this game is played, too. This prototype will be watered down until it looks more like a normal car. A lot of the crazy stuff will go away or get softened. What they'll end up offering will still be pretty cool, but won't be this avant garde.

If they want/need to redesign the Corvette, this is how they need to do it. Make it fresh and new, make sure it performs, but make sure it cannot be confused with any other car on the road. I think they've done it. If it backs up the looks with some cooks, they'll have a(nother) legend on their hands. I hope the split window makes the cut...

Seeing that car in person (on display next to the Transformers Bumblebee) really sucks you in. I liked it...

GM has explicitly stated that this thing has no chance of production. It was just designed to celebrate GM's Centennial or something along those lines.

I hate it, but I haven't seen it in person... everyone I know who has seen it in person says it's beautiful.

Thats some good news to hear from Detroit.

I don't care for any of the retro cars currently out.

I for one am glad it won't see production. After having grown up with my Dad's Vettes I think that thing doesn't do the name proper. It looks like something from a low-buck kid's movie. What's with the TV Batmobile front end grafted into the back??
