Well after many hours in the booth, the paint is all on. It turned out well. Now I have to clean up the mess and start the buffing.

The paint looks great. I love how the roofline of this car in one of the pictures is roughly the same height as the bedrail of a mildly raised truck that is in the background.

Great job - looks fantastic! How is the carbon fiber look done? Is it an adhesive of some sort or is it painted on?

It is painted on. Sprayed the black first, black diamond pearl, and then a silver I whipped up from 3 different cans, sprayed over a stencil.

Alright guys, I need some help here. Dad is trying to come up with a personal plate for this car, and I need some help. This is a 1962 Buick Skylark, in case you missed the original post.
      So far he has got:
      RZL DZL for razzle dazzle
      LO LARK for low skylark
Can you think of something better? Lets hear it

Finally had time to sit down and have a beer, take a little break. Car is going together ok, have to put the hood and trunk lid on yet. Car is so low it is a pain to work under the hood and trunk with the lids on. As you can see, fenders, doors, etc on. Just got the back seat in, and yes, it is dirty, same with everything else on the car. I put the rear glass, windshield, quarter windows and vent windows in, all new glass except the rear. That is the only glass they dont make for this car. Have been looking for a rear glass for a long time, the one I have is scratched up bad, but finally found one in Missouri. Dad was on his way up last week so he picked it up.

My mom covered the panels for the trunk, the kick panels I had to make, and the rear package tray.

Vents in the dash are from Clayton machine

I ordered some Rasteners from Troy for the fenders, I think they look good there

This is the center counsel I made from scratch that is going in. Needs another coat of primer and then the paint. Dont ask me how many hours I have in it

Next up will be a seat for the driver, I need to take this thing down the road and see what happens. Also have to install the new glass in the frames for the doors, and want to find someone to tint the back windows.

Well this car is done so I thought I would give this thread an ending, since I see so many threads in this section hanging open with no ending.
I finished the car 2 hours before we left for the power tour in june of 2012. My Dad wanted me to drive it, since my car wasnt ready due to pouring all of my time into this car. So the girlfriend and me ran the complete tour, had alot of fun, the only issue was a sticky solenoid for the air ride. Put on 3500 miles in a week.
We got the car home to wisconsin and it sat until my Dad came up for the Car Craft Nationals is St. Paul, MN. We took it there for the show, and had alot of fun. I spent alot of time explaining the car to Dad, and helping him get used to it. He had a ball, and was amazed at how much attention the car gets.
Here is Dad getting it ready for the show.

      some shots of the interior

      Engine bay

These are the trophies they hauled home from some shows in Arkansas and Missouri

Dad took the car home after the Car Craft show. A shot of it on the trailer for its long ride home.

This was the last time I saw the old girl in person. A very bittersweet day for me

So one day they took the car to Georgia to a show in Hiawasee. Some guy from a magazine saw the car and loved it. Took a bunch of shots of it and it ended up on the cover of the Crusin Style Magazine, and a 2 page article. Dad was really happy!

The car now has about 7 thousand miles on it. This year I am still trying to talk Dad into doing the Power tour with it. My car should be ready I hope, so there shouldnt be much stopping him.We will se what happens in June!
