Wilwood brakes, no pressure

I just upgraded my brakes to wilwoods from a mp brake kit that included 11" single piston fronts and drum rears with a 9" booster and 1 1/8" bore master with proportioning valve. Now i have installed wilwood brakes front and rear. fronts are dynapro 6 pistons with 12.19 rotors and the rears are forged dynalite 4 pistons with 12.19 rotors. I have bleed the system but am not getting very much peddle pressure. With the 1 1/8" bore master i should have plenty of fluid volume for the wilwood calipers but the brake peddle never feels very firm. I am thinking that the proportioning valve is wrong so i was thinking of taking it off and running without one. I know that a bunch of you guys run a similar brake setup and i am wondering what size master and what (if any) proportioning valve you run.

I run that exact set up on my Street racer and run it with no prop valve and it is just about perfect balance. The big difference is I run a 7/8 master with manual brakes.

Remove the factory prop valve and try that

ok so i removed the proportioning valve and that did help. I went for a drive around the block and i don't think i could lock up the brakes. Do i need to wear off the black coating on the rotors before i get good brake feel? I am thinking of trying a smaller bore master to boost pressure but i dont want to spend alot for just a test. Does anyone know of a cheap 7/8, 15/16 or 1" master.

Did you bench bleed the master? A soft pedal is almost always air. Somewhere.
Perhaps you can get a brake PSI gauge and see what you're getting at the caliper.
Yes, you will need to break in your brakes by a series of high speed to almost zero MPH events, check the stoptech website for the procedure.
1" master is usually called for with the wilwoods. Difference between that and 1-1/8" is huge in PSI.

I agree, your looking for air for the soft pdeal. As for pressure, if you want to increase the pressure we have a nice looking 1" bore aluminum Corvette style master for $98 that looks won't corode, is lightweight, looks good and does not break the bank
