Current Performance wiring harness?

Did I mention that I think you should use Speartech. Main reason is that Speartech builds each harness on an actual engine assembly and runs each harness to verify it is all working properly.

Yes I was leaning towards John @ Speartech. The one thing I did like about the Current one is their fuse/relay box instead of just fuses.

The fuse block is a nice add on for sure. John includes a relay for the fuel pump, but you would need to supply starter and fan relays. I generally mount the relays closer to the actual components for less large wires running around. Not a big deal, just a personal preference.

I would say that if CP is building each harness on an actual engine and test runs it to make sure there are no issues, the go for it. Do they include an SES light like the Speartech package. I would imagine they do, but I can not see it.

Go with your gut and let me know.

Agreed, I would rather have the fuses/relays under hood, close to item needing the power. John puts it under the dash, hidden, which is nice too. I know John, had met him years ago when I was a designer for Delco Remy in Anderson, IN. And I had him do the conversion on my LT1 harness. Leaning towards him, but would still like to have the fuse/relay panel thing.

Speartech is very expensive and so is that link you have. I just bought mine from PSI and it is excellent quality. 499$ shipped to my door and there is 5 ft on the end to hide the computer in the cab (unlike the one pictured). Or you can buy a whole controller kit from them with DBW pedal, harness, ECM, MAF, O2 for 825$

In the S10 world, Jared (Current Performance Wiring) is the king of harnesses for LSx engine conversions.

Another for John @ SpearTech. Not the least expensive but not that much more when you consider everything. I called each vendor on my short-list. John was the only one who did not flinch when I mentioned customisations I wanted specific to my project. We talked at length about the project, about different options and more about my project than just wiring - he really took an interest in what I was building. I wanted certain lengths on certain runs, a 2nd OBD port, some additional lines from the ECU available for my instrument cluster/gauges and the option to relocate the coilpacks. Plus we discussed which functions would stay with the ECU and which I would run from the ISIS system.

Everything was no-problem and he delivered exactly what we had discussed, on time and on budget. Clear documentation specific to MY harness in addition to the clearly labelled harness itself. The other vendors all had reasons why they could not do what I wanted. So John built me a custom harness for MY project, not just something off the shelf (which might be fine for what a lot of guys need - I'm just saying. For me, that was what I was looking for).

Additionally, a year later and I can call him anytime and get my questions answered with no hesitation, even if not specifically about the harness.

Go with the vendor that is able to deliver what YOU want and at a price that works for you.
