We had the Milwaukee in Iraq. It did it's job and took abuse from people who don't give a rats as's about taking care of tools.

I have both the 1/2" and 3/8" Snap On Cordless Impacts and am very pleased with them.

Thanks.. that's what I'm leaning toward, as long as it can manage 100 ftlb torqued lug nuts I'll be happy..

x2 on the DW059. I know it will take bolts out that are torqued at 75 foot pounds. I have had one for a couple years now and its awesome. Everything i have DeWalt works great.

I use my dewalt 18 volt impact gun for everything. I have no air tools so it becomes my "air ratchet" and I just use any extenders I need. It is only a 1/4 inch driver though. But I use a 3/8 or 1/2 inch adapter and have never had a problem even with lug nuts. I tore all my 30+ year old suspension off my nova with it and had no problems either.

I never updated this thread.... I ended up buying a Dewalt 18v 1/2 impact and love it. Then I got another 18v Drill/Driver... both are great. The batteries last forever and charge up in only an hour.

i cant believe how useful an impact can be with assembly. i took my panels on and off a hundred times when gapping and couldnt have done it without my makita. im not sure why it took me so long to realize i needed one.

I have been using my corded DW 1/2" impact for years and love it. Although it's a little heavy and the little detent ball fell out about 4 years ago it sure beats firing up the compressor just to loosen off a frozen or rusted bolt.

I've had the Bosch 18v lithium for a couple years now and love it. I use it everyday at work and still come home and take it to the garage. Come tax return I'm going to get Tue Bosch 1/2 impact. It does 500lb/ft!
