Pontiac T/A from Sweden!

Hey! Here is my project it´s a Pontiac Firebird T/A from 1970. The drivetrain is a Chevy 454, TH 400 and a 12 bolt rear axle. It had been "customized" with taillights from a newer Firebird, if it had the original rear panel I had kept it. Now when it was destroyed in the rear I decided to build my own version of the rear panel. I looked at the Firebird from 69 and got inspired to use that theme on the rear of my T/A.

It had not to much rust but i decided to get new quarter panels.

Very cool. I want to see what a 79-81 style rear end with the taillights all the way across would look like with your treatment. Recess it and use a tinted red glass and LED's.

Hey! On the question of the suspension it will be an airride system, then I also looking at BMR torque arm in the rear.

It could also be very cool with an 79-81 rear end but I like the fuel cap visible in the center, it looks more like racing.

Yesterday I did some work, I sealed all the weldings on the quarter panels with lead. I dont now what you call it in the U.S.A, you use lead as a filler. Maybe someone can tell me the right word for it, it´s not easy to write in English especially when it is technical words.

I like the gas filler placement too. It is going to look awesome when you get it finished. I have some ideas for my 74 Firebird.

Now I have started with the connection between the fuel cap and the fueltank. I had to make a little hatch so I can connect the hose later in the process. I will tigwelding the aluminum tube to the fuel cap at my job later this week.

Today I have started with inside of the trunk, I grinding it down to bare metal and it´s boring. I did a "mock up" of the rear to get inspired, this is how it´s gonna look.

I'm no purest, but am usually against most taillight mods as they just look like a mismatch to me (remember the corvette tailights on first gen Camaros?), but this one came out really cool. Great job man...

Hello! Her come a update from Sweden. My project is going on and now it´s a lot of grinding, I have paint the car with epoxiprimer before the filler. The epoxiprimer is a very good protection for the metal against rust and I will spray another layer with it before the surf.
