Twin, Single. How much boost do you want to run. What are the spec on the engine you have?

If you are looking for good gas mileage, then I would sell you current engine and go with LS engine. Your current reminds me of my first engine that I had built back in 1985, when gas was cheap. Although, it only got around 10 mpg. To do a Turbo or supercharger with your current engine, well you have to replace your current engine to do it. I have currently an LS3 with Harrop TVS 2300 in my 67 RS Camaro.

It makes sense, I do love the LS my 2010 camaro has a ls3. But I really want the vintage appeal. So maybe I will look into something else, or do another car in time. Or a twin turbo Supra. Thanks for the advice, I hope I get 14 mpg lol

First of all the Hyperutectic pistons HAVE to go, period, they will shatter if you get any detonation.
Other than that a couple of small TO4 turbos can be done ,,,look shmoov, his Camaro is a good pattern and he ran 2 old Thunderbird Turbo Coupe turbos for years,, and blow through too.
Oh and you would need to do a different carb most likely.
I am working up what it will take on my big block Caprice and my Monza also in turbo.

I think if you want gas mileage, go with a 5.3 LS truck engine and a turbo setup. HotRod Magazine did a test a month ago and got 600hp for about $3250 total cost! Its tough to build a 400 hp 350 chevy for that kind of money. I spent close to $10K on my turbo pontiac.
When you blow it up, just buy another $300 5.3 short block.
A 5.3 is roughly 327 cu in, so tell everyone you've got an LS327. Won't that be appropriate for a 1st gen camaro!

Oh, and if you decide to keep your current 383, I'd swap the cam out for a 224/224 on 114 l/c. that cam will give you more torque down low, and the turbos will boost the top end power. The ex duration and 112 cl of the current cam is going to reduce your scavenging and cost you gas mileage.
Remember a turbo can give you an extra 1000rpm over an NA setup with the same cam, so cam appropriately (more mildly) to build low speed torque to cover up any turbo lag.

I know the HOT ROD built 5.3 sounds great, but watch the cost. That $3250 doesn't include all the accessories, drives, computer, wiring harness, fuel system, mounts, etc. You'll be $4000+ by the time all that is done. I'm not knocking the LS at all, wish I had the money for one, just letting you know all the little stuff you have to have adds up too. Good luck

I agree with the others that I would not force induct this engine. Your rotating assembly and heads are not up for it.

you would dump a lot of money into a turbo or blower setup that will only hurt the engine or you would have to go so small that you would not get the power that you are looking for to stay safe on that engine.

btw - if you want to keep this engine - maybe just change the top end of the rotating assembly to bump your compression up to 10.5 or 11 and you will get some nice hp out of it without going blown.

if you want to go blown I would definitely go with billet on your crank and rods and add aluminum pistons and heads for heat. fuel injection will make your life easier as well. this is a bit over simplified but a good engine builder will know the general idea and can put a nice engine together for you. Of just get you a nice ls3 motor.

So much to learn......so much $$ to do so lol

On a supercharged car , or any high performance engine, especially if you want to any degree of boost .It is better to over build an engine than not.Or can become very expensive.
