      Swedge/expand brake line ???

Not sure the proper term for what I need to do so I'll try and explain what I need and why. I Need to make some new return lines, yes I have two return lines, on my power steering resevoir. I was thiniking of using 3/8" brake line, bending it to what I need, the silver soldering them to the old lines that have been trimmed back. So I need to expand the inside diameter of the new line so it will slide over the old line so I can solder it. Sort of like what they do with exhast pipe to allow one pipe to slide inside the other.

      Any thoughts ???

You could get a small peice of the next size larger tubing and slide it over the two peices like a union and then solder it. I don;t know of a tool to expand small tubing.

That's plan B. New plan A is to take it to my friendly local hydraulic shop and see what they can do to help.

I don't completely understand what you're trying to do here... Instead of swedging and soldering, why not just put a double flare on both sides of the 3/8" tubing and use a 3/8" union. That's what I did to extend the hard line piece of a corvette power steering hose for my car.

Not enough room. I'll try and post some pics to explain my situation. But I think I have a solution.
