      New gauges with issues

I installed new Stewart Warner gauges into my 65 Mustang. It has a Painless Wiring harness and the proper Stewart Warner sending units for the Temp and oil gauge. My problem is that these gauges do not show a steady reading. They bounce back and forth like they are not getting a constant current or something. I ensure that they are grounded correctly but the needle on both just bounce back and forth. My electric, tach and speedo work great.

I am at a loss. Any suggestions?

Yes, that sounds like an intermittent signal. Another thing that screws thing up is dash mopunted speakers and sometimes RF interference

Is your engine block properly grounded? Same question for the body and frame.
