      67 Camaro non-Ac dash questions

Does an aftermarket ac system use under dash vents or do they have you cut holes for the vents like on an AC dash? Should I just use an ac dash?

Vintage Air supplies you with a template to cut out the vent holes (which I think are 2 1/2" hole saw holes) which will resemble a factory a/c setup. I would suggest cutting them out first and then sand or stripand then prime.

The Vintage Air template is for the factory vents. You can't use a hole saw! I used an air jigsaw and a die grinder for final fit. It worked great, just use patience. You could use a round universal street rod type vent that would use a hole saw.

In any case, you want a dash vent. You want cool air blowing on you.

The VA set up requires using both 2.5" hole saws and jig saw for the vents. The 2.5" hole saws are for the side vents, which are round in shape; and the jig saw is for the center dash vent. You can also download the installation instructions from VA before diving in. I'm about to wrap up my VA installation in my 67 Firebird. Just have some wiring left to do.
