C6 spindle on 68 camaro Stock Control Arm Fitment

Ive tried researching to see if C6 stock spindle will work with Stock 68 control arms, They basically look like the same as the ATS spindles but I dont feel like spending 1100 on new spindles if I can pull some off a junked 97-2008 corvette, if anyone can chime in I would appreciate the feedback

No, it will not work. And the ATS spindle is a totally different design.

looking at the pics online of this spindle the bottom mount to the lower control arm looks identical except for the top control arm mount bolts over in the AFX instead of under like the C6, and also maybe the height of the spindle is about 1 to 1 1/2inches taller.

I think im just gonna say F that and fab some shiz to make em work

It's not just that they won't bolt in, for physical reasons, but if by some miracle they did fit, they wouldn't work well at all. The geometry would change in a lot of ways, and just because it is taller, does not mean it is better. It is way taller than a stock camaro spindle, and also taller than the ATS (just a visual estimate), and would lead to excessive camber gain, and odd roll center characteristics. The ATS spindle is set at its height for a reason. It was the best height for a balance of all the different characteristics. Bigger is not always better, especially in this case. The KPI is also different, and your camber would be seriously screwed up because of this. It would would also give you a much larger scrub radius (not good) which would create an unstable steering feel among other things.

If it was that easy, you wouldn't see people paying $1100 for the ATS spindles.

Mark Steilow used C-4 kuckles on the Red Witch he built in 1996.I belive he used the stock 1st.gen steering arm also.

Sold a pair of those Stielow spindles with the C4 hubs complete on here last week for $400 - I offered them to you in a PM first :-(

On some SED spindles, Stielow welded a steering arm to the spindle that I think was was much higher than the factory arm. He also machined holes for a factory steering arm, but the welded arm would have to be cut off to use them. I have a set with the welded on steering arm. On later spindles, I think he left off the welded arm and ran a factory style steering arm.
