Anything avail for the 1st gen is now avail for the 2nd gen. Check out BMR for the torque arm (need a Ford 9-in) and many others for a 4 link.

What other 4 links are for 2nd gens? The BMR kit looks good, but are alot of people using it? Also, what about the heidts 4 link, and will they all work with the DSE mini tub?

I just ordered the BMR kit with the 9in from Chad @ Fletcher's Customs (got a great deal), based on his knowledge of this setup, the watts link, 9in, and ease of installation I felt it was the best option for my 73 Bird. If it work anything like the 01 T/A does, I'll love it. I've already installed the DSE mini tubs and SFCs so fitting 335/30/18s under it will not be a problem.

Just about everyone now makes rear suspension for second gen cars now, however, DSE quadralink is not that more involved if you have minitub still.

I am not too sure of your fabrication/welding ability so I always like to point out that our Torque Arm Suspension is the only bolt-in kit out there. It does not require ANY welding or fabrication to install, providing a significant savings over other available options. For very close to the same price as other options on the market you get the following:

Bolt-in Torque arm crossmember with Aluminum Body mounts
Pinion angle adjustable torque arm with greasable, Delrin-bushed, adjustable front mount
Bearing/bushing combo control arms with adjustable mounting brackets to adjust instant center
      Bolt-in shock/Watts link crossmember
Adjustable Delrin-bushed billet aluminum watts link with IC adjustability
Adjustable shock mounts for varying ride heights

      Brett,

Is that a GM axle I see? Hmmm... Just went to your website and I see you're making them for 10 and 12 bolts now. If I can't get my leafs to do better, I may be in contact with you later this year (need the new 5 spd first!).

Yes, we now offer them for the GM 10 and 12 bolts as well. One option that is not possible with other leaf spring conversions is that you can upgrade in stages. Our torque arm by itself (TA006) can be used with your leaf springs. This provides the traction benefits of the torque arm to your leaf springs without reducing the handling potential like traction bars tend to do. Then if you still want to ditch the leaf springs you can purchase the rest of the kit and finish the installation later...

We ran 335/20's on 12" wide wheels in the rear of our 1st gen test car but have not tested anything larger than a 315 on a 10.5" wheel for a second gen. I am not sure if a 12"/13" wheel will clear the control arms or not. The limitation will be the control arms since their location is determined by the leaf spring perch. On the Ford 9" kits we move the control arm mount inboard so I know you can do a 13" wheel/335 tire combo with that setup, just not sure about the 10/12 bolt versions...

The torque arm hangs just below the subframe of the car but higher than just about every exhaust we have tested with (Flowmaster, Magnaflow, SW, etc..) In the rear where the torque arm attaches to the differential, the torque arm is approximately 1.5" lower than the center of the differential.

Seems to me that if you designed a torque bar other than a straight bar...in other words offset it slightly...you would still be able to use those same mounting points for the bar but get maximum wheel and tire clearance.

Does this torque arm work with a ls1/t56 set up?

Also do you guys offer crossmembers for a t56 on a second gen?

Now that is an interesting idea....I'm going to have to see how my car runs as its set up whe nI get it on the road...but its nice to know this is available.
I'm running an alloy bearing support hat on the rear of my 10 bolt....I can't see that would be an issue wit hthe mounting set up on the torque arm cradle, can you?

We can get about a half inch additional clearance by offsetting the control arms in the mounts. They can be ordered this way if preferred but do not come standard that way mainly for manufacturing reasons. The way they are now, the arms are interchangeable left and right but when they are offset they become L/R specific due to the grease fitting locations.

Yes, it is compatible with the T56 transmissions. The crossmember mounts to the rear subframe body mount so you can run any transmission you want to. We offered a T56 crossmember at one time but it is currently be re-designed to be more compatible with some of the newer aftermarket gearboxes that have varying lengths and different tailshaft dimensions. I would expect the new one to be out by late Spring/early Summer.

So if I was to buy the torque arm set up I would still have to buy a crossmember for the t56, correct? And if I do, is your torque arm only compatible with the t56 crossmember or can I use another one.
