G-Body alignment specs
Can someone give me some good performance alignment specs for a stock suspension on an 87 442? I just put new tires on and it needs an alignment. I noticed that the camber curve is stupid on these cars. They really didn't do anything to help these cars handle after a couple of decades. The camber curve seems as bad as the one on my 74.
I am going to guess 1.25 negative camber, 5-6 positive caster or as much as possible and 1/8" total toe in. Sound good?
The car handles fine for moderate driving but when you really beat on it hard, it understeers like crazy. It has a 32mm bar up front but it doesn't keep it from rolling over very good with hard driving. I have replaced the end links with poly links.
My 74 handles better than this pig, although the new links and tires helped quite a bit.1974 Olds Omega, 455 Olds, Edelbrock heads, 3.73 gears, Global West Del-a-Lum bushings throughout car, subframe connectors. E.T. 11.85 @ 112 MPH 60ft 1.62. Member since may 25 2001.
