      New from chicago (Roy)

      Hello guys my names is roy i am installing a ls1 in my 1971 chevelle it has been a real blast i have got alot done but it has turned into a restoration more then a swap i have been reading alot of your post i hope mine looks as good as everyboby elses thanks for looking. roy

      New from chicago(Roy)

      Well got a little done i removed the old tank and wire wheeled under the tank found a surprize the oringal build sheet NICE! I put two coats of lizard skin, I am trying to quiet the fuel pump which is in the tank.I have a lot of old parts that i am having sand blasted and powder coating,Man i did not think of the huge dust strom when the wire wheel hit thank god for face shield and a dust mask!!

      ls1 swap

      Well got a little done in the last couple of days even had my son in on the action got the rear end wire wheeled painted and installed the rear brakes i hope in the next couple of days to get the tank and fuel lines in then the rear end!!!!

      Ls1 swap

      well a i have a update i got a little more done i got the tank and fuel lines run into place also installed the rear end like i said in my previous post it turned into a restoration then a swap no really big surprises no rust just a little service rust and a lot of dirt. well next is the motor!!!

      Nice project. You've got to be one of the only guys building a car Downtown-- not a lot of garage space down there... and not a lot of parts stores around that I have noticed. I'm from the Western Burbs as well.

      Yes you are right not much room at all but i am making it ,I have been ordering from s&p mark is great the guy will answer any question and walk you through any problem ! I have also ordered from the parts place it is a little pricey but i think it is worth it! I got my computer in to day and some of the wiring it is all the little stuff that is eating up a lot of time i will post some pics of what i got done.

      ls1 swap

      I got all my stuff in,my wiring harness ,computer alt. pwr steering ac,from s&p the kit was pretty easy to install all detailed instructions i need to find out which fan set up to use not really sure yet i have been reading the forum and every body is running something different any suggestions Next to do on my list is to reinstall the front end!!

      I finished up the wiring today still have to put the front end together and finish the wiring to the head lights i ordered the drive shaft and my exhaust i will post pics soon

      Well i am getting close still need to do a few loose ends yet i have a couple more wires left i am working in a 2 1/2 garage so i need to get the car on the ground so i can get to the drivers side better here is a couple of pics to show what i have done!
