Which engine hoist? REcommendations or ones to avoid?

I got a 2 ton HF and used it to pull an iron 351w and FMX out, it did bind along the way and was partially lifting the front of the car (not off the ground though). The chevy side of the family even has the same HF hoist and pulled and installed a 454 that windowed itself driving down the road after a coolant leak turned the oil into the dreaded milkshake. No pepboy hoist drama here.

I have the same 2-ton model. A few years ago i yanked the engine from 87' jeep wrangler and it actually did lift the front wheels off the ground.(little bit). And just a few weeks ago i used to lift my new engine. No problems with it.



Their engine stand however, leaves a lot to be desired.
