I caught yesterday that that Tammy lady who's been buying everything in sight lately had 2nd thoughts about not bidding on it so she stepped up and made a side-offer after the sale on Saturday night to the winning bidder and now she's the new owner...prolly paid a $25-$50k premium to boot.

      More fricking money that brains...

I like Mecum better and feel it is a more accurate presentation of the market for some cars. It did burn me up that Speed kept saying the Auction that sets the prices. IMO that maybe true for the ultra rare and top custom cars but is not for your average matching #s/resto mod SS396 Chevy, 442, Z28, Boss 302 etc.

Coverage is always frustrating with the upclose panning shots, step back and show the entire car and a good complete engine view. Some of the details and stats (especially when incorrect) they toss out also get me but is expected with any car show aimed at the masses.

High prices are a double edged sword. I like the prices lower as I don't have the $$$ to just buy a 1st gen then haul it off to your shop of choice for a build. The original appeal to these cars was their low cost and ease of working/modding them. High prices can scare many of even trying to go the 60s Muscle car route.

I still enjoy watching the auction but no longer block out the entire weekend to watch out.

I have to DVR the damn thing because I can't take the 750 BILLION commercial breaks PER HOUR. Absolutely ridiculous. It must cost them a fortune to broadcast that show or the network are just a bunch of greedy bastages. I swear you buy commercial time for BJ and it's probably the best money you will ever spend on advertising because the people watching it will be reciting the commercial in their sleep. My brother and I watched the Thursday broadcast (on Friday) and we figured the ratio from commercial to actual BJ coverage was about 60% to 40%.
