      LS factory AC compressor question

I have a book called "How to swap GM LS-Series Engines Into Almost Anything"

And in it there is a section on accessory drives and cooling systems. And it states this:

The factory A/C compressor is a climate-controlled unit, and this ut runs if the A/C is on. The compressor does not cycle on and off when the A/C is running, and this style of compressor only works with the late model factory style A/C system. Don't run the stock compressor on an aftermarket A/C system because it won't operate properly, and it will likely freexe the lines. if you install an aftermarket A/C system, you need to use a Sanden compressor.

OK So if I put an LS motor in an 86 Monte SS will it work properly, or freeze the lines. Or will the stock Monte setup control the compressor & turn it on & off properly?
