      1970 El Camino Build Up

Where to start. Picked up this new toy for 2300. Was told is was mostly rust free besides a few pin holes in the driverside foot area. Checked it out and it all seemed to add up nicely. Took it and towed it 800 miles home (after the 800 mile drive up).

The plan is to redo the interior, paint, kill rust, and refresh the "350" while adding a 700r4 to get better gas mileage.

Well long story short whole floor pan is being replaced. Back window will receive some welding.

Interior is getting an SS dash with Covan Thunder upgrade. Autometer Z series tach, speedo, fuel level, and volt. AEM Coolant and oil pressure. Cobreau seats. B&M Quicksilver shifter. Hidden JVC stereo maybe. Momo steering wheel.

Exterior will be satin black. Eventaully add a 4in cowl with synergy green/Snakeskin stripes. All chrome will be powdercoated gloss black. ALL badges will be gone.

Eventaully would like to add some Boze 17s in satin black with green lip over wilwood disc brakes all around. Tub the rear for 30inch tucked tires with a narrowed MWC 9in and wavetrac. 4L80e with a gearvendors overdrive unit. 4 link. Full suspension workup. Oh and a 540-555 BBC. Whole goal is drive the powertour with 1500+rwhp on a reliable setup. One day. Gotta dream right?

Those are some big pin holes!

Sounds like you have a great plan together. Have you seen the Specter Performance El Camino?

A few. Love it. Have they recovered it since it was stolen?
