Just Laid Down Some Mass Load Vinyl

My VA condenser was leaking, so I had to pull the carpet again. The seat were already out as I needed to make new mounts to angle them higher in the front, so I figured it was a good time to finish the sound deadening process. I have been looking at MLV products for some time, but could not justify the price that most vendors are charging.

As I had some closed cell foam left over from the door panel project, I started looking for a roll of MLV. This stuff is extremely heavy, shipping tends to cost as much the product, so the trick is to find it locally. I found a company in San Francisco called Bay Area Noise Control and picked up a 100 sqft roll and one roll of seam tape this morning.

I did the floors, but still need to do the rear wheel wells. The MLV is heavy, but surprisingly easy to work with. Hear is how the floors went:

Two to three layers of dampner


1/4" closed cell foam, I did not put any on the tunnel as the center console was already having clearance issues
