None of the clips we sell narrow the track.

Tire clearance should be made with wheel offset and widths. The hub track width should be as wide as reasonably possible.

I may have to turn down the wheel mounting surface on my front rims to achieve more back spacing (the centerline rims have excess material). Or buy new ones.

As for spring rates, would 350/250 be recommended for a street application with some racing? I know TCI uses 350/250, but I also know Speed Tech sometimes uses 450 in the front? With a LS/T56 combo, would I be best off with the 350 # springs in the front.

Would it be advantageous to use a C5 Brakes, Master cylinder, prop valve in lieu of the $2000 Wilwood kit (Dyna Lite 12.19" rotors, prop valve, MC, and lines?) I know it would require more effort on my behalf, and some of the parts would be used, but I believe I could do it for about 1200 Bucks. I would imagine there are pro's and cons to the C5 set-up, but you do get 13" brakes in the front, and 12" in the rear.

For conversations sake, I plan to do the following with either a speed tech set-up or a TCI system:

      Full Front Clip
      > LS Motor Mounts and a T56 Tranny mount.
      > 12" Wilwoods all around
      > wilwood master cylinder and prop valve
      > Single adjustable coil overs.
      > Stainless flex lines.
      > Front sway bar
      > frame ties
      > rear torque arm system
      > Ford 9" (with 12" brakes).
      > Posi and 3rd member
      > Drive shaft loop.

Considering the amount of money I will be spending on the work mentioned above, and the fact that I will be doing it in conjuntion with the LS/T56 Swap, I am looking to save some money along the way. I found the thread below, and feel that it has merit:

Does anyone have any comments on the C5 system? I love Baer and Wilwood, but I also need to watch my bottom line. I feel the Wilwood kit mentioned above is of great value, but I would also like to save 800 dollars if possible.
      Thank you for your thoughts.

If I was watching my pennies I would mod the front subframe and save that $2500. The Corvette brakes are surely good enough for a new Corvette the year they were born, so it is a viable option.

I agree, I will probably do that (modify stock sub frame). I think I may also do the C5 brake Conversion. Currently I have 10 or 11" discs in front, so I will have to find spindles from a factory Drum car to modify (as the link described above).

      Thanks Frank,

I would check with Tobin at Kore3 he may have some brackets that will work with your existing spindles? He identifies the 3 different types of GM spindles on his website. Good luck with the transformation.

Tobin at Kore3 was very helpful, and spent more time with me on the phone then he had too. -Thank you!

He does have C5 brake kits that will fit with both types of spindles (multiple bracket sets available). He also has an alum hub which works with the C5 rotors that narrows the front track a 1/4" per side when convereting from a factory disc brake car to the C5 set up. This will help with my limited back spacing (17" x 8" w 4.5" BS).

I may also begin looking for some BREMBO'S off of a CTS-V. Nice caliper for such an application!
