      Never a good sight!

3930 into the 4000 mile trip to SEMA, OUSCI, at 11:45pm last night the 6.4 in the charger passed on to Mopar Heaven, may it rest in peace! Unfortunately for me, it would have been nice if it would have done it about 70 miles later! We made it home about 3am. All is good though, I had a great time and enjoyed seeing everyone again. We will tear into the motor tonight and report back. May be time for that Kenny Bell setup?

Time to drop an LS into that Mopar.. lol

Sorry to hear Bill.. but this will be a good excuse to add a few more HP to the mix. Did your oil pressure look ok on the Pahrump track? Turn 1 and turn 2 are really hard on oiling systems.

Good seeing you at the event

I'm calling for a moment of silence! And, before it comes up, it had nothing to do with me driving it on the way home! All kidding aside, really sorry to hear about the loss. Too bad we weren't still in the convoy with our trailer.

I had a similar thing happen to me. I drove all the way to Ft. Lauderdale from Birmingham, AL and then up the coast of Florida and back to Birmingham and my transmission progressively declined the last 50-60 miles. I was able to limp to an exit and got a hotel room for the night, limped to a local transmission shop less than a mile from the hotel and I wound up coasting in as it completely let go. I had to hire a rollback to get it home and have the tranny rebuilt.

Damn Bill!! Too bad it didn't happen closer to home, but at least it didn't let go in the middle of Arizona! This just means it wants more power. It did live a good life....

      Bill,
Any ideas what happened? That 392/6.4 is supposed to be pretty tough in that form? Minor or major? The stock 6.1's ring lands are too high and close to the top of the piston and sometimes they come apart under detonation/boost but I believe the 6.4 has different pistons? Hopefully it's something minor.

Dangit Bill !! If you would just pull that thing to and from car show to car show you wouldn't have these kind of problems ..... BUT that ain't what they are for . I hate that the motor let go but , I am damn curious to see what your going to do to it next . Is there any way you can blame it on Mark?

Well it fought a good fight, that motor has hit the rev limiter more times than Albert the hard stuff!!!

I suspect it will reappear better and badder than before, can't wait to see what you do now.
