      Mopar solid shackle bushings

Hey Mopar guys, I figured I'd share this with you. I found some cool solid shackle bushings from a company called American Muscle.

I recieved them in the mail today and they are nice. They are made from Aluminum and have pressed in bronze oilite sleeves. Know this however: If you use these then you can't run solid bushings on the front spring eye; the spring will bind. Some people think that poly bushings are still too stiff for leaf springs. I still wanted a solid connection on the other end of the spring so I picked up the Afco pivots. After I installed them they really do pivot very freely with no perceptible play. Anyway, I took a couple of pics and posted them here:

They are nice, but not very popular. I had a set and it took me a year to sell them.

If you use sliders, couldn't you put solids on the front without binding?

No you can't, in fact without the shackle you have even less deflection so a front pivot type bushing is highly recommended with a slider

      Where can I get a pivot type bushing for a '68 F-body?

I run the poly bushings in my 75 TA. Never had a problem. Made a huge difference at the drag strip.

This is a good article on leaf springs from Afco. They also have some good stuff on panhard bars and panhard bar tuning.
