In my '73, I tucked the digital 6 plus between the glovebox and the heater box. I didn't want mine visible.

Ive put some behind both the glove box and the radio, I find it handy because it protects the box, makes in nearly un-detectable, allows for easy wire routing to behind the distributor, and, if your cleaver it can be real easy to get to.

Best places are away from heat sources and vibration if possible. Inside the cab up under the dash is great if possible, but lots of guys put them under the hood with no problems.

Just consider what you'll need to do in the future. My 6AL2 has the 2 step and rev limiter dials right on the box, so positioning it where I can easily access those areas is very helpful while at the same time pretty much making it invisible most of the time.

I put mine in the glove box, just a matter of preference.
