Compressor - extra air tanks?
I am considering painting my car myself, and need to know if my compressor is up to the task. Here are the stats:
4.5HP, 21 gal tank
4.0SCFM at 115psi - 3.2 delivered CFM
4.4SCFM at 90psi - 3.5 delivered CFM
11.1SCFM at 40psi - 8.8 delivered CFM
I know the tank is small - what is the possibility of getting extra air storage tanks so that the compressor doesn't have to cycle on as often, to keep from heating up the air too much and causing moisture?
The alternative is to get a proper compressor, but the one I'm looking at is about $1,000 (Bel Aire 218V) and I probably won't use it that often for a while after my current project.
