October 22nd cruise from SoCal to Phoenix for Super Chevy racing!!!

Come one, come all.. sure, it's specifically targeted towards Camaros both old and new, but all cars are welcomed to make the cruise.. For Camaros in the event there will cash, prizes, women.. ok.. there will only be prizes, but good ones.

Mary Pozzi will also be on hand to give out rides and driving tips!

Of couse you need a GM powered car to get into the Super Chevy show.. but I digress..

Here are the details and the link for signing up!

      ----------------------------------------

      Duel in the Desert

Join the Camaro Performers magazine staff and the crew from camaro5.com for “Duel in the Desert,” a cruise from Ontario, California, to Phoenix, Arizona, for the Super Chevy Show on Friday, October 22nd.
The Camaro Performers magazine guys are proponents of driving their cars every chance they get, so when word went out that the Super Chevy Show would be hitting Firebird Raceway in Chandler, Arizona, they jumped at the chance to put together a cruise.
But driving through the desert will only be half the fun. The Super Chevy Show activities include drag racing, autocross, and show-n-shine. Camaro Performers magazine and Camaro5.com will present and award to the baddest fifth-generation Camaro (2010 – 2011) of the event. Camaro Performers, lateral-g.net, and pro-touring.com will also be handing out an award for the baddest overall Camaro (all generations). Points will be awarded to the quickest Camaro through the autocross and down the famed Firebird International Raceway quarter mile. The car will also be subjectively graded on aesthetics by the Camaro Performers staff and Camaro5.com moderators. The winners will receive a trophy and have their car photographed for a feature in Camaro Performers magazine.
As a special bonus, Spectre Performance will also offer the winner tickets and hotel accommodations for two days to the 2010 SEMA show.

“The Duel in the Desert” cruise will start at Spectre Performance in Ontario, California, the morning of Friday October 22nd. Cruise participants will be treated to donuts, coffee, swag, and tour of the facility. From there it’s on to Blythe for a lunch stop, and then to Baer Brakes in Phoenix, Arizona, for a shop tour, refreshments, a car show, raffles, and more swag.

Cruise participants will be able to park in a special Camaro Performers/Camaro5 corral at the Super Chevy Show on Saturday, October 23rd and Sunday, October 24th.

Go to www.camaroperformers.com/duel for more information and event registration.
Be sure to pre-register by Oct 3rd, to take advantage of the exclusive $70 discount rate, which includes two tickets for Saturday and Sunday’s Super Chevy Show, two “Duel in the Desert” T-shirts, participation in drag racing, autocross, show & shine, goody bag, and the chance to win the Camaro Performers/Camaro5 trophy.

I should be there. Hopefully I'll make it more than one run before breaking something this time.

This event is getting good. The raffle prizes coming in from sponsors are sweet. Can't give it away just yet, but trust me. There's some good stuff.

Mary, it looks like the SCCA will handle the autocross out there. I hear they have a regular gig at that facility, so it should run pretty smooth.
Looking forward to this. I'm so ready for a good road trip...

Yep, I'm sure it'll be in the normal spot (see my sig pic). I'd say the lot is a little bigger than what we got in Vegas so it should be pretty awesome.

      Thanks for the info...
Yep, I spoke with a track rep and he said it's a fairly long course compared to some of the ones we've been on lately.
      Can't wait for this!!!!!

Make sure to have your son talk to Adam @ ST motorsports also. He is a great tuner and he will be on the cruise with his 5th gen. I think his best trap speed so far is 136mph.

Come on Nick - tell what we are giving away!!!
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming 'WOW What a Ride!'
