blast and paint - what's it gonna cost me?

Have my '67 Camaro fully disassembled but for the windshield and rear glass. Going to get a couple things welded on it, then it'll be ready for the body shop, sometime in December/January.

Want to have the interior and exterior media blasted and painted. Doors, fenders, everything is loose and separate from the main body. None of the metal needs replacement. Everything lined up well enough when taken apart, I can get it back together at least as well.

Want the interior, underside, firewall in a very light gray, exterior in the darker Sunoco blue. Doesn't have to be perfect, not going to be a show car, just gonna go hit cones with it.

What kind of damage am I in for? Any recommendations for a shop in San Diego given what I'm looking for? Any places that might be willing to cut a break on a race car that might get some coverage in magazines and stuff? Already have a couple hundred thousand hits to my blog, and the car is still being disassembled-

Assumming no metal work needed as you said you could have it done between $8,000 and $10,000 with some of the lower end paints in a small body shop. That is based on speaking to several small paint shops in Texas (not sure how that equates to CA). That includes a budget of about $2000 for materials which will not leave you many choices (maybe some of the Summit brand primers and paints). Nicer quality materials would run $3000 - $3500. Most here will argue that is not enough and for a high end car it is not. But that is not what you asked for. For reference . . . when I look back at Tyler's flat black 68 camaro I don't think he had much at all in that paint job.

$90 per hours is INSANE high, unless its a top of the line shop. Figure $40/hr in labor, and about 80 hours labor plus another 2-3500 in materials for a quality paint job. I do know places that will do the whole thing for around $2500, depending on what youre looking for.

$90 hour is most likely right for Calif. We are at $70 hr here in Fl and do it right with waterborn BASF Glasurit paint. We also have our own media machine. That job here would be 10-14k depending on what it looks like when stripped. Material cost about 4k.
