Freshing up intake manifold looks ?
Short story I have a used polished intake manifold that needs alot of detail, is there any quick tips to freshing it up without killing myself? Thought about media blasting and painting just to not have deal with work on a polished intake. So tips/tricks any advice? Thanks Brandon

I'm not sure of the condition, but if you want to keep it polished, I would degrease it (engine brite/water)... Wipe with wax/grease remover...use a q-tip(s) to get in the hard to reach areas... wipe it dry... then get a Mother's power cone kit, with metal/ aluminum polish and buff it just like you would wheels... I did this for a friends mustang 5.0 polished efi intake and it came out pretty nice... Hope this helps..

WD-40 and a burgandy scotch-brite will give it a great brushed appearance that will be easy to maintain/touch up!

good tips never thought about that one Ty. Might be going to look at a Edelbrock performed for 50 bucks but if I don't get it gonna try your ideas guys. This is a beat around truck to enjoy driving etc till Chevelle is finished.

I took a manifold to a local cylinder head shop and had is bead blasted. It wasn't polished to begin with but it did come back looking like new.

I haven't done it yet but I'm going to have mine powder coated, here in NC you get to se a lot of Cup engines on display and that's what most of them use on their manifolds, I've seen them in several shades of gray that looks almost stock in color all the way up to a charcoal color.

Could I use scotch brite pads to clean it up with WD-40 and the repolish it?
