      Underbody prep/primer suggestions.

Hey guys, been running searches and not finding an answer to my question so here goes.

I'm cleaning up the underbody on my '69 Chevelle and am looking for suggestions on how to do this right the first time without having to take it down to bare metal.

I have a few areas of very light rust which I am wire brushing with very good results. Most of the underbody however, is in excellent condition, including the original paint. My plan is to use U-Pols Raptor undercoating once all is prepped and sealed.

      My questions are:

      1. Will epoxy primer adhere to both bare as well as painted metal assuming I've scuffed the painted areas to give the primer something to bite onto?

      2. Looking for suggestions on brand/product to use in this application.

      3. Also need a recomendation on product and application of a good seam sealer.

Thanks to all in advance for your time,
      Joe

On my 67 I used SEM Metalock DTM primer. Seam sealer after the DTM then use your Raptor coating or paint.

I tend to shy away from undercoating EVERYTHING under the car. I would do the wheel wells in undercoating and the rest in a satin black paint. Reason being, if you EVER have to work on the frame or suspension, the undercoating makes a real mess of it. Also consider that you probably don't plan to have the car out in the salt so undercoating is a moot point. I like the paint for the fact it is simple to do and is easy to work with and touch up. It also doesn't "trap" moisture like undercoating does. JMTC's
