      Dyno testing my 383

Here's data on the final dyno run:
      Peak: 399.3 HP @ 5400 RPM / 455.8 #ft @ 3300 RPM
      Average: 338.8 HP / 440.4 #ft

Dart Iron Eagles, 180cc runners, 72cc chambers, 2.05/1.64 valves
Speed Pro flat top pistons (9.7:1 compression ratio)
      ProComp full roller rockers
      Wolverine Blue Racer Cam, 224*/234* @ .05, .469/.488 lift, 110* LSA
Performer Plus Cyclone intake (Edelbrock RPM knock-off)
      650cfm Edelbrock

I picked it up last night and plan to install it Memorial Day weekend. And my brakes are scheduled to arrive any day now, so I might be ready for the Pigeon Forge event after all.

Is that what you were looking for??? or did you want more?? I personally want more from my 383, but I have a bigger hyd roller and a TPIS intake, but that still a healthy street motor,

Ditch the Edelbrock 650, install at least a Holley 750 or something similar and I would think you should be in the 400hp range. Or am I completely incorrect by thinking a better carb will get you more HP???

      nice numbers

i think if you had gone with a bit bigger cam you would see a bunch more hp, something in the 235-240 @.50, are you happy?

Hey, I was just looking for a good streetable small block with a strong torque curve. This setup works for me at the moment. Might tweak it later, but for now, I'm happy!

(By comparision, my daily driver is a 4500+ pound 4X4 extended cab pickup with 235 factory horsepower. So I think this mild 383 in my 68 Camaro will still put a smile on my face)

Your gonna love the stroker motor.
Your engine is really close to my setup and I was able to pull my front tires off the ground at the track about 2 inches.

You have a decent foundation for when the hp./trq. hunger hits. Swapping the heads, intake, and cam would turn it into an entirely different engine. You do realize that it will happen, right??
