unfortunately convertibles are not welcome at RTTS unless they are caged so i will not be participating on track days, disappointed is a bit of an understatement, but i am still planning on going just to hang out and check everyone's cars out. whether or not i take the camaro is still up in the air.

on a good note, i might be going Big Block....... to be continued

not much of an update but i got a 454 big block, i am in no rush to install it. ended up giving the one i left a deposit on to my father and got another one for me.

i order a four bar set up with a driveshaft safety loop and subframe connectors. so the 3" drop leaf springs with global west bushings and qa1 single adjustable shocks are up for sale. the slide a link traction bars will be up for sale shortly after a part that got lost gets replaced.

also should be getting some aluminum frame bushings in the mail tomorrow.

working on getting a fabricator to do some custom work i had in mind.

right now i'm just in the hurry up and wait phase. but so far so good, things will pick up speed before i know it. she is finally coming together

rtts right around the corner. even though i have been considering getting a roll bar, doubt i will be participating but i'm still looking forward to watching and meeting some of the other drivers.

      update:

several life plans have change pushing the camaro on the back burner. i will soon be moving overseas so the camaro will most likely be stored until i am ready to have it shipped to my new home.

but since my last update: i gave my dad the four link and just installed the 3" drop leafs due to time constraints with move. front suspension has been installed with the bmr control arms, qa1 double adjustable coilovers, new tie rods with umi tie rod sleeves. brakes have been upgraded to 14" drilled and slotted with brembo calipers, stainless lines, all new hard lines, and manual 7/8 wilwood tandem master cylinder. the exhaust is set up with 3" flowmasters delta 40s. i changed out the full length headers with shorty style headers after i got the car on the ground do to very bad ground clearance on the drivers side (sat about 3" off the ground). so i still have to take it to a muffler shop to get that extra length finished up. i installed HID lights to help light the road since the lights will now be shining through the billet grill instead of the headlight doors opening like on the traditional RS models. for the trans, i finally got around to installing an aluminum pan with drain plug and installed the kilduff shifter with all new hardware. rear shocks were replaced with the adjustable qa1 shocks. custom door panels are currently mocked up. bought a convertible top boot to cover up the top when i have it down (basically always). lots of other small things that i am sure nobody cares about.

i went to install the rear rotors i ran into a small (depending on how you look at it) problem, in where the drivers side axle was longer then passenger side. turns out my dad replaced that axle years ago but did not put the correct length in. so at this point the car is waiting for the axle to arrive in the mail, should be within the next few days if all goes well.

considering i have less then two weeks before my flight leaves there sure seems to be a lot of small things that preventing me from getting this thing on the road... but i am fairly confident that i have fixed all the previous "work" that was done to it, and fixed the right way. so that gives me peace of mind.

      photos coming in next post

umi tie rod sleeves, very nice piece, would recommend this or any style similar to this. there is no comparison between stock and these. very easy to turn.

      mini update:

had the exhaust installed, wheel alignment (minus camber since i did not have the shims), all brakes installed, adjusted a few small things here and there, changed my headlights to black housing projectors headlights.

moving today, so here is the car loaded up on a trailer to head of to storage until i am ready to have it shipped.

hey man the car looks great I see your in bethlehem pa, your not to far from me. Even though your moving away now. Not all of us have huge budgets man. youve done a fine job with what you have. Im impressed. Keep the updates coming as you have the time/money. I know speaking for myself at times it can be tough watching some of these guys finish there cars in less than a year start to finish. Us small folk just plug away as we can...well get there someday.

      thanks guys.

sr73bu, i am pretty sure i will not be going to rtts as i moved to puerto rico . most likely after i have the car shipped here, it will never see the states again.

boostin, you hit the nail on the head. some of the builds on here are absolutely insane with practically no budget and the best of the best parts built by the best of the best in the industry. i dont make that kind of money to where i can get away with that, so i just do what i can, with what i have and buy what i can, when i can and give it my best shot. baby steps, but steps none the less.

p.s. its hot here in PR :P but i am enjoying it

well i have been back state side for about three months as the move to PR was not what it was hyped up to be but we make choices to make our family happy even though they may not be in our best interest. so luckily we for me we moved back to the states and i am now residing in the kissimmee/orlando area in florida. words dont express how nice it is to be back here in florida. this time i around i am not going no where. time to grow some roots.

with that said i will be having the camaro shipped from NJ where the car was stored hopefully by the end of the August. it should have been here a long time ago, but there was a scheduling conflict with the person that will be sending it for me.

i have a few nice parts i have been hording that i am itching to install on it such as billet engine dress up goodies, new gauges, deck lid, interior pieces, and the big dog of them all, a vortech supercharger. should be real fun once that gets installed. i will be saving to hopefully get a nice rear suspension and roll cage installed by late winter/spring time frame (if i am lucky). we will see

Welcome back to Florida! We are just down the road on the East side of Tampa not too far off I-4. We have a great rear suspension for your car so let me know if you can drive over and take a look at it in person....

Year and a half later, update. ive been using it a bit more often as a daily driver so i thought id update the thread. currently specs are as follows:
sbc 350, flat top pistons, l98 heads, 480 lift cam, performer rpm intake, holley carb, three row aluminum radiator, mark vii fan, mid length headers, 3" exhaust, flowmaster delta 44 mufflers, 700r4 trans
bmr upper and lower control arms, qa1 double adjustable coilovers, addco sway bar, 3" lowering leafs, del a lum bushings, aluminum frame bushings
      cts-v brembo 4 piston calipers, 14"/14.4" 2010 camaro drilled slotted rotors, 19x8.5 with 255/35/19 & 19x9.5 285/35/19 pirelli pzero tires
billet phantom grill, hid headlights in black housing
various bad ass goodies here and there

here are a few photos i took last weekend:

i was on my way to old town in kissimmee, fl when i seen someone holding a sign that says car wash, so i was like why not. circled the block and turned into the parking lot to find it was the wing house having a car wash at the restaurant.

they were nice enough to take a photo with the my son after they were finished. they did a nice job, cleaned the wheels and even added some tire shine.

from there we went to old town and hung out for a little while:

and the owner standing proudly in front of his ride.
