      Hi from the UK

      Hi.

Before I go further this is not an advert or cheap promo attempt, but more of a chat regarding what I'm about to do.

Talk about going in deep, but anyway, here goes.

My name is Rob and I am in the process of launching my own business. Setting up is well under way for starting a vehicle restoration business dedicated to and only too American Muscle Cars dated from 1965 - 1985. I will be importing all my work directly from the States and in most cases, the cars will be California vehicles so limiting the presence of rust as best as possible.

Regarding the business itself, the purpose of the restoration is to do a kind of 'Wrecks to Riches' rebuild of the car but the car itself will be as stock built as possible. The car will be completely stripped out right down to the shell and all parts inspected and restored where possible. In the worst case the part will be replaced with a new one if it is deemed to far gone for repair. A complete respray of the car will be done once the vehicle has been restored and then rebuilt. The engine and transmission will be rebuilt or in some cases replaced with a new one but once the restoration has been completed, the car will be registered in the UK and sold on or Auctioned off. These cars will not be however sold on Evilbay. Anybody who has a car and wants it restored but does not have the time to do the work themselves I would do if they were happy about it, but I recommend they do the work themselves, even if it takes five years to complete because the satisfaction of getting these monsters on the road knowing you done all the work yourself is unbeatable and it isn't hard. You don't need to be specialised in anything when it comes to restoring a car, just the right tools for the job, a good manual and deep pockets cause it can be expensive as I'm sure some of you here will already know.

About me and why. Well I'm just your ordinary Jo. A passion for something has ended up in me deciding to make a past time or hobby into a business that benifits not only me regarding the work involved but others, helping rebuild the car of they're dreams. Regarding restoration of vehicles, I have had a mixed life with this. It all started when my father purchased a chassis for a Morris in the early 70's. I spent many hours helping build the car but unfortunatly it was never finished as he lost his job after the company he worked for closed down, so it was sold on three quarters built. Helping friends and also working on my own cars was something I enjoyed doing and also kept costs down with labour charges etc etc. I then moved onto a restoration with a differance, aircraft. I spent six years restoring classic jets from the sixties and seventies, working on hydraulics, electrics and airframes alike, turning in some cases dorment static airframes into electrically live static exhibits for museums. Unfortunatly work limited the time I had there in the end and had to sto. And now being the age I am I decided it was time to establish myself in something that I could look back on and say that I achieved it on my own and this is where the business I am starting comes in. Why Muscle Cars. Well thats simple. They are icons, well sort after and in most cases, the value of these vehicles is higher than the average new car on the market today, plus I think they are far better than english cars of this age, but maybe thats just me.

So their you go, an insight to my venture, one that should be up and running by next year. Let the fun begin
