      87' Cutty!

My name is chris haines, i am on here to help decide which direction i would like to take my 87' cutlass.

the car is pretty stock, and sounds and runs very nice, it floats down the street like a caddy, and its quiet......

theirs no stereo, and no noise except a lil creeking over certain bumbs and a lil exhaust leak that sounds like a tickin. (its exhaust)
interior is in fair and good condition considering its an 87 cutty!

the engine is stock for the most part except the carb, which i am still researching which way to go. i want dependablity and the best possible gas mileage possible.

im on here to research my questions and to eventually meet and ask for opinons and help from guys/girls who share my similar ideas and visions of a good built g-body/cutlass.

Welcome, and please dont do another lowrider cutty. I had one and trust me lowriders need to be worked all the time and everytime you blow a seal you need to take apart almost everything to replace them and you will always have oil leaks just dont do it... nice cutty though

Nice cutty. If you want to get upgrades for your suspension, talk to Mark at SC&C.

welcome. love seeing more g-body Cutlasses on here. I've got a build going on my 86, but haven't had time to work on it lately.

honestly, the best carb for driveability and gas mileage will be the original electronic Quadrajet. Quadrajets have small primaries which make them great for fuel mileage, and the computer adjusts for best driveability. they get a bad rap cuz people don't understand them, but it's doable. do you know what works has been done to it so far? If the carb is not a e-QJet, then the distributor needs to be replaced with a non-computer distributor because the computer isn't getting the right feedback from the carb.

Nice Cutty, build up some funds, and then determine how much you want to budget in stages, keep the car in driveable condition is the best thing I could suggest, keep the enjoyment level up.

Here's a link to what I like to call the 'candy store' if you don't already have it...

And don't thank me, I did not help you one bit... the SC&C site is one addictive habit, but everything they have works to a 'T'. Marcus is a fountain of knowlege, great guy to do business with.
He will even talk you out of buying parts that will not give you the results you are looking for.
