I just got done reading the Buttonwillow 7-31 report and it sounds like a great time. Looking forward to the 25th and meeting some peeps. This is definately what I need. The only problem I see is the possibility of spending more money on better parts down the road. For now I just want to get it on the road. I'm back out to the garage!

Rob, I'm assuming you have already invested in a set of aftermarket control arms. If you are thinking about spending a lot of track time be sure to work on things that will save you money later on. I recommend starting with a Canton road race oil pan. An oil cooler and thermostat will also be necessary. From there work on taking weight off the car.

And alway's remember, safety comes first. As you progress, so should your safety equipment!!

Cant weight ti'll the 25th either, see you then.

7 cars and twice as many people this time around and there is still two weeks left, not bad guys, should be a good time.

Less than two weeks to go and as usual anticipation is killing me. The guys at dream speed discoverd that my front springs were to short and damaged my front shocks.

They advised that I go with a longer, softer spring this time around and in addition we have lowered my rear end gears so I am looking forward to seeing what these changes will do for my car.

I have not run Buttonwillow since the changes to the rear suspension and now front suspension and my last lap times there were 2:15. My goal this time around is to knock 5 seconds off that time.

In addition, I want to thank the guy's at dream speed motors for the new air cleaner set up. I showed up to the shop last saturday and we were standing around my car with the hood open and when I turned to look at the engine compartment it surprised the shat out of me when I seen it. They did not tell me about it and was never part of the plan, THANKS GUY'S!!

I cant wait either. This will be my third time out and I finally get to run. I did some extra work to my car to even out the weight of the big block and on the streets it feels really good.

Hey Gaetano, With all the suspension work you should kill your last time. I still have those springs if you need them.

They have always been loyal to us and we've been loyal in return. Call me crazy but I am compelled to keep it going.

Again, thank you guys for reaching out. As much as I hate opening up my wallet unnecessarily, I can't break the "bond" with my builder.

I'll let you guys know how it goes. Hopefully back on track by October and badder and better than ever with an overkill oiling system. And I am oh so tempted to inquire about stroking it....

CurtiSS thank you for the parts offer. I will let you know but I can't take freebies so I'll think of some way to pay you back.
Since you don't take freebies...Don't pay me, but I talked to your instructor and he said he wants an accelerator pedal on the passenger side!

I believe we will be good to do the first round of suspension tuning. Your control arms are now free to move so we can let the rest of your suspension work as it should. I just wish we had better shocks to have a separate rebound adjustments.

For now we will start with the shock adjustments you had then continue to + till we feel its good.

We modified your lower arms so the bushing sleeves don't pop out, the lower shock mounts sit flat and you can now remove the shocks without dropping the spindles.

I know we popped the air cleaner on you but hell at that price I'd hang it in my kitchen. LOL

Still waiting on breather tank parts. Hope to have later this week.

John, what springs do you have? We are at est 720's @ 11.25".

I've only done the G-mod w/ hotchkis springs front and rear and Hotchkis front sway bar. I will do some tubular upper control arms. I'm saving up for some Varishocks also. I will keep the oil pan in mind when I build my 383.
As for the helmet issue, how closely do they look at the helmets? My wifes Arai is Snell and DOT. No Snell SA2005. Thanks.

SA 2005 is the required minimum. Remember, safety first!! There should be a snell rating somewhere in there. Snell means that it has been tested and should have an application rating. DOT alone means that the manufacturer believes it will meet DOT standards but has not been tested.

I'm looking forward to putting the Road Runner on the big track again since April. I know everything is good/great for dominating Autocross, but I have some concerns about the brakes and cooling that we had last time. Hopefully the changes I made help a lot.

It's unlikely as I have a load going on. I'm instructing at the 3 day Reno Fernley Track School the next Weekend, and have a load of car and house stuff dragging me down as well.

I will probably due some lead/follow with Chris in red group then drop into blue last couple sessions. I'm pretty sure Sevilla is blue, not sure about Dan, Kyle, Rogue, or Patrick.

A few others said they were coming but I haven't seen their names on the entry list.
