      i think it should be fine. we use them all the time in the speed shop i work at.(engines for sell or display) i might not hang all the accessories on it on the stand but i used one for my small block and i had no issues.

      Why risk it? When engines fall off stands they tend to land crank/balancer first. That will really ruin your day. I have a 1000lb and I still wouldn't put a loaded BB on there. I would/have put a loaded sbc though with no concerns. Also if its a 3wheeler I wouldn't use it. They are a little too easy to tip and a 1000lb 4wheeler is only $60. I just would hate to see a guy tear apart his engine and send the crank out to see if its bent after if fell of the stand. Especially if it were me.
