      Doooo What......

Well everyone has heard the old "Doooo What" from ther Quadrajet when they stand on the gas.

I bought a Stage 2 Quadrajet from SMI, and the "Doooo What" is gone.

My old carb was totally worn out, bushings etc, and needed a rebuild.
I just decided to get a new unit, and man does it work.

My 71 Nova has a 327 with a little above stock cam and normal bolt ons, and a LT1 style T-56.

The car pulls hard, with no hesitation in any gear, and idles along on the highway in top gear.

Without a doubt, this was a good modification.

Going from the small primaries and tipping in those larger secondaries, there is a huge onrush of air that needs fuel to keep it from leaning and giving that Dooo-what. Apparently your new carb has been worked over to provide a good transition when your foot is planted in the carb.
