      Firewall color...

My car is goin to be orange. I'm unsure on the firewall color. Orange or black? The inner fenders and core support are going to be satin black.
      What do u people think?

I painted my firewall body color (marina blue) and the rest is the satin black from GM. Im my opinion I think it looks great others have cried about the cleaning part of it though.

Maybe this will help. My car is orange with black engine bay and firewall.

do either one or the other. painted fenders and firewall presents a more custom clean look, but lately poeple are going back to black or a textured (for the lack of a better term) dark charcoal/black. the latter looks more functional/mechanical.(detroit speed cars among others) mine is pictured. if i had it to do all over, i might go with the dark textured paint.

I recent had to contemplate this same situation. In the end I decided flat black on the firewall and inner fenders. My logic being I didn't want anything to "compete" with the engine visually. Just my $.02.

I would still say no. I think it too would draw my attention to the firewall...and firewalls just aren't that interesting

I say keep the focus visually on one object, the engine.

Good luck with your choice! Let us know how you go.

I vote for Eastwoods chasis black also. High gloss black will show every flaw in the firewall, and will be a PITA to keep clean.

I subscribe to the Foose philosophy:

The engine bay is the jewlery box, and the engine the jewel.

The jewel "pops" a bit more when it is in a black box right?

Firewall black for sure. Inner fenders, I think I'm going back to black unless when I take them off the body match paint is still real nice then I'll leave them be.

Sounds like blk is the way to go. How about under the cowl? Blk also? Into the dash?
