Please don't. If your headers are glowing, imagine the extreme heat that your pistons are experiencing. If your headers are glowing, shut the thing off as fast as possible and figure out why. Extreme lean condition, severe vacuum leak (resulting inn extreme lean condition).
Don't ask me why these guys don't mind glowing headers. F1 engines are not turbocharged. Maybe it's just during start-up.

Headers don't just glow when there is something wrong. Hell, cast iron manifolds will glow if you're on the power long enough. Imagine a truck pulling a trailer up a hill. That F1 engine is used to some more air flowing over it when it's turning those types of RPM. This will also explain why they are using pretty exotic metal for exhaust. I have been pulling a lot of video from the web, and many of the dyno videos show engines with glowing headers at the end of a run. That F1 engine is computer controlled, I highly doubt they are running it lean, or at least lean enough to damage it.

The pipes on f-1 cars are paper thin , that might make them glow easier. Imagine your mechanic telling you to "go easy, keep it under sixteen thousand r.p.m."

F-1 is awesome but the races themselves turn into a parade sometimes.

esp. the one-or-two passing show that Monaco was (that's a joke, by the way).

Some of there exhaust systems are made of inconel, which can take more heat than Ti- It just depends on the location in the system.
