      GM #12557583 Pilot Bearing

      This is the bearing I was told to use installing my D&D T-56 behind my LS motor. Funny the ID measurement is 22.7mm or (.894") but the input shaft measures .590"? wtf?

      This obviously will not work, so what are you guys running? Now the .894 must be for the normal t-56's but my tranny's input shaft was modified to act like an old muncie so the front of the input shaft was ground down to .590"

      I read this in GM's LS1 installation manual this morning, that this is the bearing that is supposed to be used. Help!!

      I dont think I can. I think the shaft is too short to safely ingage the pilot bearing...???

      what are you using for the bellhousing? very interested as I need to do the samething with my D & D T56

      GM 621 reproduction, not sure how it will hold up, but I sure wasn't going to pay $400 plus for a new quicktime or pay someones outrageous cost for an original 621.

      Any love for me on my issue?

      So I got my answer from Keisler today. the GM bearing part #12557583 will not work. The id of the bearing is too big. Keisler makes a bushing and new bearing that goes into the back outer recess of the LS crank to accommodate this. Why the heck does GM list this as a conversion bearing though?

      Honestly I'm not sure, but tonight I will measure it just for information's sake.

      Only a few chimed in here, figures I'd be the odd ball to run into this..
