Your paycheck from Pep Boys bounced? I would be standing in my managers chest, and nothing in the shop would move before I got paid.

I had a job that the company "forgot" to put the money in the payroll account (it is a violation of labor law to issue a chech without the money in that account). All the employees would run down to the bank to cash checks on payday, when most of them bounced I went back to work and refused to work until the check cleared. To top it off I being it was screwing with my lunch time, I did not start counting my lunch time until we were told the account had been funded. The bosses were PO at us but it was their screw up after all.

BTW any late charges that you get slapped with due to the bounced paycheck, your employer are responsible to pay.

Well update, someone forgot to transfer money to payroll account. so I get to fill out stupid paper and send to somewhere and hope I get it back.
Had to ask sister to loan me enough to keep electricity on till paycheck clears, this sucks but its "fixed" supposedly.
As for my pistons, I am thinking about different approaches for the Cheap Trick Monza.
Guess I can concentrate on "What If,," Caprice, need a car running by mid September for local cruise/show.

Well the Lord looks out for me, I took friday and saturday off for 25 yr class reunion, I spent last week scrounging parts for neighbors 91 Ford truck to put a fuel pump in one tank, as pump sounded bad and has been transferring fuel from tank to tank.
Well the $200 fix turned into a $600 fix, pump went from $200+ to $453, then $40 connector, and $155 sender. I had zero cash and when all said and done did job for $60, minus what he had already paid down payment, told him $45, he gives $50 and truck is never down for him if in a shop he wouldnt have it for at least a week, oh and NO AFTERMARKET pumps available!
Well that $50 bucks had to cover me till Sunday as I have to borrow enough to get by through week and pay electric bill(was going to do it Friday night online).
Well Pep Boys said to ask them to redeposit the check, trouble is it has to "float" for 7 days till it clears,,,, WHAT A CROCK but I see banks point it did bounce before.
Im wondering if this place is for me?

Oh yeah no 283 forged pistons anywhere in US. Federal Mogul tore plant apart and shipped it to China, its in warehouse, building isnt even built yet from what I hear. Turns out CHRYSLER controls/owns TRW/Sealed Power/Federal Mogul, and we know where that is.
Wonder what else Obama can screw up?

I haven't read every word of Cheap Trick's thread, but why were you attached to the 283? If it's a CI thing, 305s are dirt cheap, you could get a 350 iron block for cheap a make it a 302 with your 283 crank? Might be cheaper than those forged 283 pistons too.

Well got 283, std nitrided steel crank, bearings, block 7 rods(machinist has extra) 6 free .040 forged flat tops, nearly done (need one guide machined in rest took liners) 461s done in 202/160 w/stainless 1 piece valves, for now z springs(is cut for big springs), flat guide plates, screw in studs. All I need are retainers. Well that and cam/lifters.
See I have literally everything for this, And Vince(MrQuick) "Sold" me and LT1 intake, like sent it and everything and I "forgot"(this means I absolutely spaced sending it) to send money and he says forget it, ie he gave it away and paid shipping.
Yeah I have a roller 350 block, but only 302 pistons I can find are huge domed ones at over $600 a set plus $150 set rings. And new pan, and 1piece to 2 piece adapter, and spacer bearings if still available.
I mean I can probably get JE or someone to make 2 pistons, $125 each at least, just more than wanted to spend(ie planed for $43.XX each and not sure how engine would work with 2 different brands, heck I dont care about block, it was free still standard, I would have bought 060 if reasonable, but dont want cast as its gonna be twin turbo sometime,,,.
Just frustrating, waited 6 months then shot down, still debating selling heads and pistons and stuff. Might be able to make enough to do the 350 up ok, but last Monza had a 355, it was too violent on launch, figured 283 might soften it up some,,,,.

That's all far to reasonable, lol. Sounds like this is one of those times where you get stuck bending over to someone else's will. It sucks royally and on behalf of the universe, I apologize for your misfortune(not sarcasm), now suck it up princess(sarcasm), there's cars to build(not sarcasm).
