1970 Firebird Twin Turbo Build

As a new member to this community I am excited to introduce a project I am working on in connection with the guys at All Speed Performance in Muskegon, Michigan. We are shooting for 1,500+ hp and 1,300+ tq at the rear wheels and by the looks of the Butler Performance IA II performance 400 block bored to 475 cu. in., Kauffman heads, Eagle crank that has been turned, Ross custom forged pistons with 8.5:1 compression ratio, they will hit the mark. This will run on pump gas. Visner Engine Development made a custom billet intake with matching two-piece billet valve covers. Much more on the engine to come

Well, like most projects of this nature, it has taken a life of its own and this hobby-turned-obsession is in the build stage and will be on its way to SEMA in November.

Kris Horton spent countless hours on the rendering bringing this vision to life. Some of body modifications include a custom chin spoiler, rocker skirts, enlarged functioning hood snorkels, functioning fender vents, recessed roof and trunk lid, integrated spoiler with center indentation, rear valance with diffuser and widened front and rear fenders. For performance, we are started with a custom Pontiac 400 block, punched it to 475 cu in. and are adding hi-flow Kauffman aluminum heads, twin turbos and custom pistons.

The guys at All Speed Performance are working tirelessly on this build and are shooting for an early Oct. completion date. This car will be featured in the Forgiato Wheel booth at SEMA in Nov.

I have a quick question. I can't tell from the pics... Is that front bumper/nose original or a reproduction? I'm trying to find information on the quality of the repros... If that is one, I'd love to hear your opinion!

The front nose is a reproduction from VFN Fiberglass out of Addison, IL. Check their site out: http://www.vfnfiberglass.com/site.htm Extremely light weight and great quality. The stock nose will crack and warp over time. That's why we went with the fiberglass. Thanks.

Good to know, thanx! Any thoughts on the quality of that piece as received? Did you have to do much work on it to achieve the fit you are looking for, or are they cast pretty well out of the box?
