Please welcome a new member.
Hello all,
I am a car nut like I'm sure most of you are. I just purchased my first g-machine. Please tell me what you think. It shares the garage with my 99 Viper GTS (solid black). I have had a number of cars/trucks, but this baby is my first real hot rod.
What is the difference between a G-machine and pro-tour car? I see the two words alot but do not know what the difference is, if any?
I will be here alot looking for advice and info on local car shows and cruises.

Welcome to the site, Rube. I'm pretty sure I've seen that car before in person and liked it then, too.
As for G-Machine vs Pro-Touring, I've heard both that they're interchangable, and that to be Pro-Touring the car has to be a domestic car from the 60s or early 70s. I don't know if there's really a 'correct' answer to that one.

Welcome aboard there Rube. You will enjoy it here. We have seen that car here before, in fact there is a thread somewhere about it. I bet you bought it for less than the guy said he had in it that built it.

Congrats on the purchase as I said before in the other thread on this car...that is one of the nicest first gen Birds I have seen...hope you drive it and enjoy it as much as your Viper!

Congrats! and welcome... I wondered who the new owner was.
I don't know if I can help much with the terminology... but... IMHO (In My Humble Opinion)
I myself see G-Machines as Track cars and Pro-tourers as long distance (touring) cars.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
The car was in the 2004 Power tour and I was also lucky enough to track down the November 2004 Popular Hot Rodding Magazine which did a full story on the car.
The builder sold at Barrett-Jackson and was not happy with the sales price. He "stated" he spent over $125k to build the car and I bought for much less. I fell in love with the machine the first time I saw her. The work done to the car is top notch and the fine detail is evident.
I will post more pics soon in addition to my other toys.

I saw that car in person in Chicago and Green Bay last year on the Power Tour. Very nice indeed and like they stated in the posts above, most of us like that car a lot. Im sure if you do a search you can see the positive feedback on it.Adam_______Offical Car Name "ILLUSION"

I would love to get my hands on that Calender and it makes sense since the car is wearing Nitto 555s all around.
I would love to join the Power tour, but dont think I will have the time. However, I will hit as many local car shows as possible.
Anyone have a 2004 Nitto Calender they would be willing to sell?? : )
