      18/19 wheels on 63 Nova

What do you guys think this will look like. I am afraid that there won't be enough sidewall. I don't really want to have a tall tire. Originally I was going to do 17's but John at CCW mentioned 18's and 19's. Maybe I should just do 18's all the way around.

You gotta remember that this is a tiny car. It may look like it's on wagon wheels. I'm just a fan of proportion though. I say 18's are the biggest I'd go. Just remember the size of the car.

Look for other Chevy 11's with big wheels (Google?)

Check this car out! 18's would be fine, but look into what a 19 would fit like using a moderate sidewall. The car in this link has 17's, but the pics are too small so I have no idea whether or not 18's and 19"s would fit.

This is the pic he was talking about. I just clicked on it and it bigger. Looks sick too. I would have never guess they were 17" wheels. Keep in mind though that this is a 67 not a 63 like he has. They are different body styles. I would go 17" and no bigger than 18" like Allen said.
I have seen 20" wheels on the back of the Novas and it looks damn nice IMO but I imagine it is an extremely tight fit and cant ride nice at all.

I am sure as long as it had like a 35 to 40 series side wall it would ride fine on a 20! I say 20 the world!

I think you should do the 18's 19's

no no no. you guys have it all wrong. thats a 67 and the fenders are totally different than a 63....

note the rear fender. a 19 tucked under would look wrong. this car is running 18s all around and it looks good. (note that he has the wheels on backward! one more to add to the pet peeves thread, people who dont know there is a front and back wheel on their car...)

I already said it was a different year. I used to have a 66 I know the difference.

      fit and ride

I think they'll fit just fine since the car is tubbed and has a scotts front clip, i'm just not sure if they are going to look to big for such a small car. I am going to run 35 series tires if i go with 18's and 40 series tires if I stick with 17's.

First gen Novas have a proportionally small wheel well opening compared to a lot od other cars. I would think 18's would be pushing it me.

Here are a couple of bad pictures of a friends 63 Chevy II convertible.
They're using 17s and 18s on it, mini tubbed, mustang II front end and air ride.
