Is everyone in the Mid-Atlantic a Poser!?

      That's right!

I have been trying for 3 years to get members of this forum out to various Autocross and Track events in the Mid-Atlantic region and no one from this forum has shown up to a single event.

I read thread after thread and see pictures and videos of the West coast crowd building these great Pro-Touring cars and getting together to Autocross and Open Track them. But not out East, it seems they would rather just post about their trailer queens rather then putting them to the test!

      Brian,

I think he's referring to people on the East Coast/ Northeast.

Not everybody..... Some people are still waiting on parts to finish thier car.

Where do you normally run? When I had my EVO I went with TSCC and old dominion down here in Norfolk for autocross. I also did patriot at VIR with NASA several time. I plan to hit the remainder of the NASA patriot and VMP events this year with the G8 until the camaro is done. Although at the rate I am going it probably wont be done until next year.

As far as track days... I am going to save those for the bike. I would rather trash a $8K bike than $100K camaro...

Come on Pedro, finish her up and get her out to the track or an autocross with me!

I try to get to a couple of autocrosses a year with the Capital Driving Club and get out to Summit Point for some FATT events and with the EMRA for Time Trials.

BSR, the outfit that puts on the FATT (Friday At The Track) events has offered to do a vintage only FATT, but the response has been less than overwhelming. If you're interested please check out this thread - https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=69409

Tim - where in the Mid-Atlantic are you?

I have to admit that I am currently merely posing, as I haven't even done any modifications to my Elco yet. Some stuff planned for this summer though.

We're practically neighbors! I'm in Vienna and grew up in Arlington. For Autocross, check out the Capital Driving Club (CDC) - http://www.capitaldrivingclub.com/ - Autocross is a great way to sort out your mods and help set up your car.

The MD Camaro Club is starting to do Autocross; I joined the club earlier this year to be involved.

      Info:

      MCC Members,

The Autocross is ON for Sunday, July 11th, rain or shine!

It is setup similar to last year as there are three classes, one for Corvettes, one for Camaros, and another one for everything else. There is going to be two separate autocross races, they will be run one after the other. Each person who enters will get three runs per race. Therefore, if you enter both races you will then have a total of six runs on the course. We are planning to change the course for the second race.

There are three sponsor clubs: the Maryland Camaro Club (MCC), Corvette Club of America (CCA), and the Belair Corvette Club (BCC)

People who would like to race can pre-enter by going to the CCA web site at http://www.corvetteclubofamerica.org/

If you pre-register on the CCA web site the cost is only $15 per race. Otherwise, it will cost $20 per race on 7/11.

I am still in need of a few more volunteers to help me work at the event. Please email me at [email protected] and let me know that you can help.

If you have any questions, please feel free to also email me (note: I usually respond to emails quicker than I do phone messages).

      Regards,
      Charlie Geis
