      Autocross at Camarillo California Airport.

I found a local car club that is willing to let some of us join them at the Camarillo airport on Sunday September 19 2010 for a $50 per car autocross. We can't get that many spaces so it will fill up fast. I won't handle any of the registrations or anything else. I will pay my $50 and show up like everyone else. I also believe with each $50 you get a soda, chips and a hot dog and spectators can buy them for $4

They have a few rules and they are not biggies but you will need to stay all day.

Runs are from 8am to 5pm and there are 4 groups of 15.

Each lap takes about 1 minute and you will get on average 10-11 laps during the day.

Everyone that drives must also help out. There is a system in place where you will have cool down time, relax time, drive time and work time. They say if you don't want to pick up cones or flag don't come. Everyone will work in some way or another. They have vests made up with positions like cone worker, flag person e.t.c. and you will wear them

There are no prizes and they do it for fun and not as a competition.

My thoughts are to join them at least once to see if we like the facility, nobody freaks out that it looks like a plane is going to land on them, the condition of the runway are o.k. and so on.

If we are happy with it I will either hire them to bring the equipment and set it up or some how we buy our own stuff and do the entire thing ourselves.

If you are seriously interested in joining them on September 19 2010 all day "they keep each persons drivers license to prevent you from leaving early" then please reply here.

Their rules sound kinda tough, but what happens these days is drifter type young people come and run, then leave and don't work the event.

Oh well. No one is interested. I am going to back out of this and open the spots to the club hosting it. I thought for sure there would be 6-10 of us.

      Bummer.

I am still on the fence. My oldest daughter's b-day is the 18th, as are 2 of my daughter's AYSO picture day. Chances are the 19th will ahve to be a b-day party day. IF I convince the wife to do it the prior or following weekend I am SOOO IN!!

Do you still believe in all the things that you stood by before? Are you out there on the front lines, or at home keeping score?
Do you care to be the layer of the bricks that seal your fate? Would you rather be the architect of what we might create?

Dude, you better attend something soon--I am starting to wonder if you actually sold your car and are afraid to tell us. If you are attending, let me know--I'll drive to your place and we will caravan up.

I know how Hollywood Cassanova feels about Auto X, anychance we can bribe him into joining us? Larry, tell him there's a road course and he will get points for wearing coveralls disguised as a driving suit if he attends.

Since there's a road course I'm in. Cris from JCG thinks he can rope a few people in as well.
