      68 camaro steering column diagram

Hey guys, working on the horn in my steering column and started taking the top part of the column apart.. Now I have worked on tons of 69 steering columns but this one looks like it is missing parts and/or is rigged up differently internally.. So I was wondering if someone has a diagram showing the 68 non tilt steering column or even a 67 non tilt steering column.. I have the 69 diagram but want to know if the 67 and 68 is different in any way and if it is I really would like to have the diagram for it if its available... It just looks so different than the 69 so I am hoping that the 68 or 67 is different and not that I have a different steering column from another car in here all together.. Anyways, thanks in advance!!

      Well , 67 -68-and 69 columns are different.
The '67 and '68 has the ignition switch in the dash.

The '69 column has the ignition switch in the column.

      That's one difference.

I believe it was '69 when the ignition moved to the column. '67 and '68 were on the dash.

There are some column diagrams on corvettefaq.com (that aren't vette columns). I can't get there to see if any F-body columns are there (thanks, WebSense) but the A-body stuff should be similar.

I don't have an electronic version of the '68 column info, however I do have a Factory assembly manual and chassis service manual. I will look through them tonight to see if I can find anything for the column. If so, I can scan and upload.

      Mark, try http://jimshea.corvettefaq.com/?page_id=5

About halfway down are several documents detailing the F-body columns.

I will take a look but I thought when I looked before on that site I could not get a definate answer on what it was... RHINO if you could find one from your assembly manual and scan and post I would appreciate it.. The 69 one is very clear on what is in it so I am assuming the 68 manual should be just as clear..

      Thanks

If you happen to need parts let me know, I have them.

The 68 assembly manual has a blow up of the column and if you want one the wife just found one at a garage sale I can sell you cheap.

Have fun those columns are soooooo easy to work on,LOL

I did find there is a full 16 page section on the column in the chassis service manual. I wasn't able to find much info elsewhere.

I've tried attaching the images to this post, however it doesn't appear to be working now. If you could PM me your email address I'll send them your way.
