How bout a 2JZ? I know such a hybrid would cause some of the traditionalist to have a heart attack but the way I look at it, search for a JDM front clip. I have seen 2JZ clips for around $5K. Here is one now: http://www.jdm-online.com/jdm-engine...ine-93-97.html

For that I get a forged crank, rods and pistons. DOHC, fuel injection, twin turbos, computer, wiring and a six speed tranny. Supras routinely make 500-RWHP without even taking the valve cover off. Very tough motor. Single turbo dyno queens make 600+. If you really want to cut cost, the 1JZ is virtually the same. It makes a little less power due to the smaller displacement but would cost less than 1/2 of the 2JZ.
