Mercedes CLS seats in 1. Gen Bird

Anyone use CLS seats yet? Do they fit? I don't mind a little fabrication considering I'll have integrated belts if they'll fit.

My guess would be that they're way too wide. I could be wrong, but I'd want to get some solid measurements before buying. These old F-bodies really aren't very wide between the rocker and the tunnel.

I dunno..there is a matching back seat sitting behind them....so they probably have some sort of way to access the rear seats.

you might want to check the CLK seats they flip forward.

The CLS is a "4 door coupe" - never could figure out why MB called it that. The front seats do not fold. The CLS has (really small) rear doors (with really small windows).

I looked into some CL600 seats. They were very nice seats, but they did not fold in half & the controls were not integrated into the seats. I think most if not all Mercedes have the seat control buttons in the door. I felt that also added to the complexity of the install. I ended up going with BMW M3 seats.

It's kind of a "love it or hate it" car. I think personally the styling is pretty cool, but the practical advantages are not so good. I thought about buying a used one a couple years ago. They drive pretty nice, but at the end of the day I just couldn't take the bad visibility when you're driving it.

The C class seats will fit fine. The standard seat in a C230 is not fully powered and has the control on the seat. The C Coupe's (aka hatchback) seats are full manual and very comfy.

I actually got the full skippy now...they are from a "CL" 2 door. The controls are in the door which is the only downer I can think of so far.

Depending on the year, make sure you consider if there are any issues to deal with as a result of "Pre-Safe".

I wound up going with E93 BMW seats instead...hopefully the right choice.
